SB 607 Would Gut CEQA

SB 607 would essentially eliminate in-depth environmental review for a long list of polluting development projects. SB 607 is the greatest threat to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) that we have seen in recent years. And the timing could not be worse, as our federal environmental laws are also being dramatically weakened by the Trump Administration. CCA used CEQA to overturn the proposed Newport Banning Ranch. Without CEQA we wouldn’t have the Randall Preserve.
