NMUSD Sign On Letter, Due 1/31
The Newport Mesa Unified School District (District) is considering potential uses of the undeveloped land located at the end of Whittier Avenue and West 16th Street. Presently this 11.3-acre parcel (the Property) is being considered for its future uses through a Surplus Property Committee (7-11 Committee). The Surplus Land Act (under Government Code sections 54220-54234) requires a right of first refusal to all local agencies for affordable housing, open space, and school uses before selling or leasing the land. CCA asks supporters to sign onto the letter urging this land be permanently protected as public open space.
