In 2026-27, CCA will design and implement a CorridorWatch Program that transforms parks from passive backdrops into active community spaces where trust, belonging, and cross-cultural relationships are built through recurring collaboration. The goal is to form a trained volunteer corps responsible for monitoring, protecting, and stewarding sensitive coastal habitat and engaging with park visitors in public spaces. Participants serve as visible park docents and habitat guardians—conducting monitoring, assessing conditions, reporting misuse, educating the public, and deterring unauthorized activities. This consistent presence both protects fragile ecosystems and creates social interaction across lines of background, age, culture, and lived experience.
