Peter Scharnell is Senior Director, Product Management for Transact Campus, a higher education focused technology company. He is a passionate wildlife photographer and advocate for the environment. Born and raised in Newport Beach, California near Upper Newport Bay, he spends a lot of time these days in the San Joaquin Wildlife Sanctuary, Newport Back Bay, and the local beaches, canyons, and mountains. Peter received a BA in Environmental Science from Sonoma State University and has worked as a naturalist, advisor, and docent for The Nature Conservancy, OC Habitats, California State Parks, Sea & Sage Audubon Society, Coastal Corridor Alliance, and the Newport Bay Conservancy.
