Bill Meincke

Communications Specialist

Bill Meincke is the Communications Specialist at the Coastal Corridor Alliance, where he combines his love for storytelling, journalism, and meaningful communication. Originally from Chicago, Bill now makes the most of Southern California’s beaches, mountains, and deserts. He holds a Master’s in Journalism from NYU and has reported on everything from politics to fertility and breaking news for places like The Chicago Tribune and Business Insider. He’s also co-authored Journalism Crossroads and managed content at Stella Center, where he created engaging mental health campaigns. Bill’s all about amplifying voices that often go unheard and making complex stories easy to understand, all to keep meaningful conversations going in the coastal community.

Why do you work in this field?

Bill works in this field because he’s passionate about creating connections and amplifying voices to make a meaningful impact. He believes building a better coastal corridor is about fostering a community that values environmental stewardship and the well-being of everyone who calls this area home. By enhancing ecosystems like Fairview Park and the Randall Preserve, we can strengthen the bond between the coast and the community.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

Bill loves spending time with his wife and their Goldendoodle, Gretl, catching baseball and football games, and exploring new places, especially through international travel.

Lastly, what is your favorite outdoor activity?

Taking in a deep breath of fresh air on a cool morning. At night, catching the stars.
