David Martinez joined the Board in 2026. He is a dedicated public servant having previously served on the Newport-Mesa Unified School District Surplus Land Advisory Committee on its Banning Ranch property, and the City of Costa Mesa’s Active Transportation Committee. On those bodies, he advocated for preserving this 11-acre Banning Ranch as open space and promoting green transportation. He now serves on the Planning Commission. David currently works for transportation advocacy group Streets For All, where he works to make a better transportation system for all Californians.
