Tameira Franklin

Tameira Franklin is an undergraduate Social Policy and Public Service major at the University of California, Irvine, with a passion for advocacy, equity, and inclusion. Growing up in Los Angeles, where challenges like housing inequality, gentrification, and limited access to affordable resources shaped her perspective, she developed a keen interest in urban planning and has taken several related courses. Tameira plans to pursue a career as a real estate attorney to address these issues, advocating for equitable development, affordable housing, and community-centered policies that benefit underserved populations.

Why do you work in this field?

Tameira works as an intern because she is passionate about addressing the societal challenges she witnessed growing up in Los Angeles, such as housing inequality and the environmental impacts of urban development. This opportunity allows her to engage with urban planning efforts that promote sustainable development

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

In her free time, Tameira enjoys working out at the gym, playing tactical video games, and taking long nature walks to explore and appreciate the often-overlooked details of life.

Lastly, what is your favorite outdoor activity?

Tameira’s favorite outdoor activities include swimming and riding jet skis, where she enjoys the thrill of the water!
