Sarah Rios

UCI Fellow

Sarah is a UCI Fellow from northern California, specifically San Joaquin County. She grew up going on hikes and visiting nature reservoirs. She is currently an undergraduate student at the University of California, Irvine, where she is studying Political Science, hoping to become a lawyer. Sarah is particularly interested in how law and policy affect the environment.

Why do you work in this field?

As a pre-law student, Sarah wants to explore how the law affects different areas, including the environment. She would like to learn more about how the law affects environmental issues locally and get hands-on experience maintaining and promoting environmental protection.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

Sarah is currently a board member of Ballet Folklorico de UCI. She loves dance because it not only allows her to be active but also allows her to represent her culture and continue to pass down traditions. She also likes exploring OC and trying different places to eat!

Lastly, what is your favorite outdoor activity?

Sarah loves the beach! She loves going there to watch the waves or even study there. She loves working in nature as it relaxes her and gives her a deeper appreciation.
